Party Split Within the Youth Vote: 18–21 Lean GOP, 22–29 Favor Democrats
22–29-year-olds favored Democrats by 6.4 points; 18–21-year-olds favored Republicans by 11.7.

Trump, Vance, Musk are Unpopular with Everyone
Among voters overall, Trump’s favorability is 46.5-52.7 (-6.2); Vance -13.5, and Musk -18.9. Among voters under 30, Trump is at -17.9, Vance -30, and Musk -34.7.

Voters Support Endowment Taxes, Pell Grant Applicability Expansion; Split on Institutional Neutrality by Age
Young voters more likely to support campus statements (+10.5) and test-optional admissions (+9.9); both groups support Pell expansion (87.9%) and taxing university endowments (55.8%). Young voters rate elite universities more favorably than others (+7 vs. -4.2).

Generational Divide on Trans Athletes, Youth Transition Treatments
Majorities oppose trans athletes in women’s sports; young voters more supportive, especially for youth sports (evenly split vs. 60% oppose overall). On treatments, 61.1% of young voters support access at 18–21 vs. 50% overall; 47.8% oppose access at 13–17 vs. 62% overall.
About the Poll
The Yale Youth Poll surveyed an online sample of 4,100 registered voters from April 1 to April 3, with an under-30 oversample of 2,025. The survey was conducted in English, and its post-weighting 95% CI margin of error is ±1.9 percentage points for the full sample and ±1.8 percentage points for the youth sample.
